Glad to be back doing what I like,Painting flowers.Such a wonderful gift I received from my dear friends in New York(thankyou Neetu) a book by Jean Haines -Atmospheric watercolors.I liked her writing style ,its as good as her paintings. Its a wonderful book.I am trying to learn Jeans art of freestyle painting. The Tulips shown below is my first attempt.Painting this small picture I could feel how I am restraining myself trying to add the right colors and right shapes to the tulips.I did breakaway a little bit but not all.The end result look lively than if I had tried to copy a real tulip flower.Just like Jean said I did have lots of fun throwing in some unusual colors into the background before I even painted the form of the flowers I hope to do more of this style soon.Do let me know how you like this simple painting.
I am professionally a plant tissue culturist. My first love was botany and while learning about plants I was introduced to drawing. Now plants and flowers are part of my life.Forgetting the academics I try to enjoy beauty of nature through paintings. When I travel nature and places appear before me like a kaleidoscope. Its too vast for my eyes to behold and I want to capture them in my mind .There are so many colours and shapes and I try to present a few here through my paintings .

Phalaenopsis Blooms
Hi there, this one is my favourite flower painting.I took a lot of time to perfect it .I almost abandoned it when I thought the half opened flower on the left was ruined . But when it finished I was really surprised at the life like quality of the petals.Hard work does pay off! Hope my viewers do enjoy this.

Flowerscapes-Tulip garden
The landscape with tulip flowers as seen in the Netherlands was my subject for my next watercolor painting. Many people appreciated this one at the exhibition .The red tulips in the front and then mixed colors and the white tulips made good composition. The grasses in reddish brown color enhanced the landscaping. I was very pleased with the short wall .It was real fun painting this one. Do enjoy!

Lilies watercolor painting
Here I have lilies again in watercolor. The oldest flower was done on a darker tone than the others.
I have done lilies in water color earlier. Do have a look at them here.
