Mural Paintings

Hi all after a very long time.
Its been few crazy years busy with my official responsibilities. But now I am back again to let you know I am on the track to painting again.
I am learning to paint Murals in the past one year. Accidentally went for a days workshop and was  instantly in love with this art. It was a short two days beginners course and I ended up going for regular classes with the artist Vishnu Vikraman . Mr Vishnus art is exceptional and he has indepth knowledge of mural painting . He translate mythological stories into paintings .Here is some of the paintings I have done under his guidance.These paintings are mainly on canvas with acrylic paints.

Introduction to Joe's painting

The young and intelligent Joe Zachriah  came to see my painting exhibition.He was viewing each painting for a long time and discussed each one of them,why he liked some of them why he was not sure about some .But he discovered lots of meaning in my painting which actually I never thought of. He enjoys painting anything that comes to his mind.A soothing music in the background inspires him.He promised to send me photos of some of his creations of some years back and I found these paintings having a lot of stories to tell .Thank you Joe for sharing and its nice to know that seeing my painting exhibition has inspired you take up your painting brushes again.

Flowers from my garden

Last week my blogging was on a real low pace and so was my paintings.After the festival holidays of onam ,going to hometown ,cooking and feasting, meeting friends and relatives,I had too much to do at home and workplace.There was rain rain everywhere but the garden in our house was full of flowers. Such a delight to sit and watch. Now its time to start painting on my favorite topic flowers in watercolors.So I am setting myself a challenge to paint 2 paintings next week.Today I took photographs of the flowers and coincidentally there was a rose very similar to the reference photo of PADT challenge complete with dewdrops.Here are the photos

Day Lily in water color

Day lilies or Hemerocallis are garden plants with beautiful display of flowers of different colors. The flowers  come in almost all colors except blue. New  varieties have textured petals,double shades and ruffled edges.

The variety  I have painted is called Red Hot Returns.The green throat of the flower complements so well with the Red color of the petals .I have added only  two  leaves in the front  and then  a very light shades of green leaves in the background washes of blue ,yellow and green . 

It is a very simple  picture but still I would like to do a improvised version later .
